Learn how the Iterative method helped a client re-craft a section of the website content and increase average page views by 300%.

300% Increase in Average Page Views in 30 Days Iterative Management Delivering Stickiness Measured in Page Views
  • Iterative Method of Web Improvement Delivers -

Compare this website analytics chart with the circular model of the Iterative Web Management System that produced it.

    1. Goal of Case Study - The client desired to measure the relevancy of a particular content block thought to be valued by its audience. The question to be answered was, "To what degree is the content relevant to and engaging the audience"?

    2. Tracking Progress - A "Relevancy or Engagement" index was created by tracking average page views per visitor within the content block. If the content was connecting with the visitor, they would naturally absorb more of it.

    3. Improvement Procedure - It was decided that three rounds of refinement to the content would be implemented, two weeks apart, spanning a 30 day period.

    4. Conclusion - Each content rewrite produced approximately a 100% improvement in page views over the previous period.

Average page views increased from just over 3 per visit to the client's definition of success, between 8 and 10 page views. The Iterative Management Process proved itself to guard against a costly and protracted effort with unpredictable outcomes.

Both Message and Content Layout Were Tested

    1. Message Recrafting - The message was recrafted using one of the structured sales process formulas (A.I.D.A.S.). The message was presented more from the user's point of view and made more personal. The tone of the text was more objective and informative, deleting superlatives and marketing-eze.

    2. Text Structuring- The content required restructuring for better usability, scannability and improved page blocking, reducing vertical scrolling.

The message was broken up into more pages with a logical menu and easy-to-grasp navigation.
